Order-Processing System
When an order-entry clerk (OEC) or customer service representative
(CSR) enters the order into the system performs the following steps:
- Check each line item on the order to verify that the goods are
in stock; at the same time, verify the payment.
- If the item is not in stock, place the order on hold until the
goods are available. If the item is in stock, assing the item
to the order.
- Once all the items have been assigned to the order and payment
is verified, dispatch the order to the warehouse for assembly.
